SportActiv Barnsley is the NEW name for the development and delivery of sport & healthy activity in Barnsley and district.

Formerly BSAF, we have changed our branding to more properly reflect the work that we do in the community. We are committed to working with a range of partners to increase the quality and quantity of sports coaching and leadership in the area, in order to encourage participation in sport as a healthy activity, as well as to help raise standards of performance and promote excellence.

Our Work

Key elements of our work in relation to coaching and leadership include:

· managing programmes of education and development for coaches, volunteers and leaders

· progressing funding bids to develop projects to train sports volunteers, leaders and coaches, within the context of the Sport England Development Plan

· managing the Community Sports Coach Scheme.
