SPORTS FOR 8-16 YEAR OLDS AT SHAW LANE 'S ASTRO TURF OR HOLGATE SCHOOL - depending on the weather!!
Only £2.00 per day
Monday 26th July to Friday 3rd September 2010 (except Bank Holiday Monday 30th August)
10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm
(Supervision during lunch hour for those bringing their own packed lunch)
Activities include: Football, Cricket, Rounders, Tag Rugby, Basketball, Netball, Go Ride cycling coaching and more.
Monday 26th July - Cricket Masterclass with
Australian cricket legend Geoff Lawson.
All sessions will be lead by fully qualified and CRB checked sports and health coaches.

Be Active
This is a physical activity program that is being developed for people across Barnsley to help them become more physically active.
It is being run by Sheffield Hallam University.
As a part of the consultation phase of the project they have developed an online survey that local residents, businesses and various organisations can complete and provide information about their thoughts and experiences of physical activity and what they would like to see running in their local area.

SportActiv Barnsley is the NEW name for the development and delivery of sport & healthy activity in Barnsley and district.
Formerly BSAF, we have changed our branding to more properly reflect the work that we do in the community. We are committed to working with a range of partners to increase the quality and quantity of sports coaching and leadership in the area, in order to encourage participation in sport as a healthy activity, as well as to help raise standards of performance and promote excellence.
Our Work
Key elements of our work in relation to coaching and leadership include:
- managing programmes of education and development for coaches, volunteers and leaders
- progressing funding bids to develop projects to train sports volunteers, leaders and coaches, within the context of the Sport England Development Plan
- managing the Community Sports Coach Scheme
SportActiv has successfully achieved charity status from the 21st Sept 2009 meeting objectives set by the Charity commission operating to improve the condition and social welfare of Barnsley's inhabitants.
